October 15, 2007, Taipei, Taiwan ¡V Following Mr. Derek Cridland¡¦s appointment as Senior Vice President of Engineering & Maintenance, China Airlines today announced additional appointments to its Engineering & Maintenance team. Effective immediately, Mr. Sheau-perng Tai was appointed VP of Engineering & Maintenance Division, and Mr. Chwen-jiun Huang was appointed Acting VP of Engineering & Maintenance Quality Management Division.The moves indicate Chairman and President Ringo Chao¡¦s determination to pursue the continuing innovation of company culture and reorganization.
Mr. Tai has over 30 years of experience in related area.In 1974, He joined China Airlines as a quality control staff in the maintenance department, and worked his way up to VP of Engineering & Maintenance Quality Management Division in 2003.Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Tai was VP of System Operation Control Division, in charge of the airplane dispatch and emergency training programs.
Mr. Huang joined China Airlines as a mechanical engineer in 1979, and was promoted through a variety of positions including Assistant VP of Intercontinental Aircraft Services Company, and General Manager of Business Planning Department in Engineering & Maintenance Division. Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Huang was Assistant VP of Engineering & Maintenance Division.
CAL appointed Mr. Tai and Mr. Huang to their new, highly responsible positions, due to their wealth of experience in the maintenance field, as well as their professionalism.
China Airlines is confident Mr. Cridland and his new management will lead the 2200-person maintenance team toward continuous improvement of CAL¡¦s flight safety standards, to meet the highest expectations of its passengers. ¡§I look forward to working together with the China Airlines team in fine tuning our safety and reliability standards,¡¨ said Mr. Cridland. |
