23 August 2007 - China Airlines today announced the details of its payment packages for all passengers who were aboard Flight CI 120 to Okinawa on 20 Aug. Today some of the passengers have just returned from the journey to Taiwan. China Airlines President, Ringo Chao, and his management team greeted the passengers with a small gift at the arrival gate in Taoyuan International Airport.
Each business class passenger will receive NTD 30,000 for their trip payment, and NTD 50,000 for baggage compensation, including NTD 20,000 for hand-carry baggage and NTD30,000 for checked baggage.
Each economy class passenger will receive NTD 25,000 for their trip expenses and NTD 40,000 for baggage compensation, including NTD 20,000 for hand-carry baggage and NTD 20,000 for checked baggage.
On top of those good-will payments, each passenger received 25,000 Yen and USD 100 in cash, on the day the incident took place in Okinawa, to help defray their daily expenses.
