China Airlines Wins International Trophy in 2007 Rose Parade

January 2, 2007, Taipei, Taiwan ˇV With its splendid float ˇ§The Natural Beauty of Taiwan,ˇ¨ China Airlines won the International Trophy for the most beautiful entry from outside the continental US in the annual Rose Parade. The 2007 trophy marks the 16th time that China Airlines has won an award in the Rose Parade, which is held every New Yearˇ¦s Day in Pasadena, California.

The theme of the 2006 Rose Parade was ˇ§Our Good Nature,ˇ¨ and the China Airlines float fit the theme perfectly. The 55-foot-long float highlighted the natural beauty of Taiwan, depicting lotus flowers, fruits and butterflies. The float, 18 feet wide and 35 feet high, was covered with a dazzling array of fruits, seeds, nuts and plants. The China Airlines float was designed by world famous float designer Raul Rodriguez, who has created Rose Parade floats for many years.

China Airlines began its participation in the Rose Parade in 1987, and during the past 21 years, its Rose Parade entries have won great publicity for Taiwan, and for the company itself. There were 45 floats participated in the Parade this year. It is believed that more than 100 million viewers watched the television broadcast of this cherished, century-old celebration.
