July 15, 2004, Taipei, Taiwan- China Airlines launches a series
of new inbound tour packages “Dynasty Package discovering Taiwan.”
The new packages are designed for individual foreign tourists
in Taiwan, which include 12 tours with six separate themes. This
is also a part of promoting 2004 Visit Taiwan Year, and assist
the Taiwan government in its goal of doubling the annual number
of inbound tourists by 2008.
The design of the packages took into account a survey of foreign
tourists done by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau. According to the survey,
the major attractions in Taiwan are Food, Scenery, and Cultural
Heritage, while Taroko Gorge is considered the country’s top scenic
site. As the result, the new China Airlines packages promote five
major itineraries: the North Coast, Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, Kenting,
and the east coast from Taroko Gorge to Taitung. The packages
are designed to be flexible, and to avoid arranged shopping excursions.
Target markets are from Japan and Hong Kong.
The six themes of “Dynasty Package discovering Taiwan” include
Sun & Beaches, National Parks, Hot Springs, Night Markets,
Culture & Heritage, and Lakes & Mountains. For those arriving
in Taiwan via Taipei, available packages include Taipei City,
Hot Springs, Northeast Coast, Culture & Heritage, Tea Terraces,
Taroko National Park, and a Sun Moon Lake Luxury Experience. For
those entering via Kaohsiung, available packages include Kaohsiung
City, Taroko National Park, Sun Moon Lake, and Alishan and Kenting
national parks.
The “Dynasty Package discovering Taiwan” are available through
all China Airlines’ oversea branches from July 15. Detailed information
on itineraries, hotels, prices, travel agents and other details
will be available on its corporate website (www.china-airlines.com).
China Airlines has operated outbound tour packages for Taiwanese
tourists for more than 10 years, and it now offers tour packages
to 31 destinations in 15 countries.
