| July 7, 2004, Taipei, Taiwan – In order to provide better
service to passengers in Southern Taiwan, China Airlines will
increase frequencies on its Kaohsiung - CKS Airport route to 6
flights per day, beginning August 1. China Airlines will wet lease
Fokker 100 jet from Mandarin Airlines to increase services on
this important feeder route.
China Airlines began the Kaohsiung-CKS Airport service in July
1981 and with 3 daily flights nowadays. The newly added flights
on CKS Airport-bound at 11:00, 13:30 and 20:40 and Kaohsiung-bound
at 15:25, 18:00 and 22:35 all provide easy connections on all
China Airlines’ departing and arriving flights at Taipei CKS Airport.
China Airlines inaugurated international flights from Kaohsiung
in 1971 and now has services from Kaohsiung to Hong Kong, Manila,
Bangkok, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta. It also
operates a Kaohsiung - Ho Chi Minh City codeshare service with
Vietnam Airlines, and occasional charter services to Japan. CAL
maintains the largest market share (32%) for passengers traveling
overseas from Kaohsiung.
