May 27, 2004, Taipei, Taiwan- China Airlines is introducing
its newly renovated luxurious VIP lounge at CKS International
Airport on June 2. The grand opening of the new facility marks
a number of new features including a make-to-order noodle bar,
12 broadband-connected computers, and wireless connectivity in
the whole area. The business hours for the lounge will be 05:30
to 22:30.
Located on the 4th floor of Terminal One, CAL’s new VIP lounge
covers 991 square meters, and is emerging from a multi-million
US dollar renovation. Guests to the lounge will freely enjoy from
the beverage and snack bar, noodle bar, business area, shower
rooms or the wireless broadband.
The new VIP lounge, separated into First and Dynasty Class, can
comfortably seat 57 people in First Class and 162 in Dynasty Class.
To match CAL’s relaxing color scheme, the First Class area is
decorated in brick-red tones, and Dynasty Class in shades of blue
and purple. The floors are made of classy marble and plush, quiet
carpeting. The multi-phase lighting system provides changing levels
of luminance, and the lounge design offers passengers undisturbed
privacy in which to relax.
The revamped VIP lounge also offers a number of brand-new features,
including 12 broadband-connected computers, a wireless connecting
area for laptop computers, dial-up connectivity in most of the
seats, and six 42-inch plasma televisions with a wide selection
of audio and video entertainment and most updated flight information.
The noodle bar also provides delicious seasonal menu of cooked-to-order
noodles with three choices. The snack bar offers dim sum, western
snacks, and drinks. The two shower rooms are decorated with brown
marble flooring and stylish mosaic walls, and offer guests a chance
to freshen up before a flight.
China Airlines'VIP lounge takes care of more than 1,000 passengers
on average every day. In addition to First and Dynasty class passengers,
it also welcomes Paragon, Emerald and Gold card members of its
Dynasty Flyer Program. For the popular noodle bar, CAL expects
to provide more than 1,000 bowls each day.
Furthermore, China Airlines has much good news recently. These
include beginning two-way codeshare cooperation with Delta Air
Lines on May 1, increasing flight frequency of Hanoi route to
daily service from mid-May, and inaugurating new passenger services
to Hiroshima, Seattle and Houston in June. The brand-new A330-300
passenger jet will be introduced later. By the end of June, China
Airlines will fly to 46 cities in 21 nations.
